PopnCandy Box

A Japanese DIY candy box, posted monthly from Tokyo. Most Japanese snack boxes are snacks. This one is built around the make-it-yourself kits — Popin’ Cookin’, Nerunerunerune and the rest of the chiiku-gashi range — with snacks on that month’s theme alongside them.

Every box carries 12 to 15 items, at least two of them DIY kits. The kits come in Japanese-only packaging, so an English guide goes in with them — we write those ourselves.

Allergens

The contents change every month, so the box has no fixed allergen profile. Across the kits we currently ship, the declared allergens are chicken, egg, gelatin, milk, pork, soy, squid and wheat. Individual kits are also made in facilities that handle almond, egg, milk, walnut and wheat.

Some kits are sweetened with aspartame and therefore contain phenylalanine, which matters if you are managing phenylketonuria (PKU).

Every kit has its own allergen and nutrition listing on its product page, and each box arrives with the original Japanese packaging, which carries the legally required label.
